Why Choose Proactive?

About Me - Paul Lucas

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist with over a decade of experience working within the NHS and private practice. I have wide and varied experience of working with patients that are living with the effects of long-term conditions such as Stroke, Parkinson’s Disease and frailty. I have worked within the Northamptonshire Stroke Team and I am PD Warrior trained; an approach to treating newly-diagnosed patients with Parkinson's Disease. With my knowledge and experience of these conditions, I am able to assess my patients and offer appropriate advice & treatment to help manage their conditions. I offer a friendly and professional physiotherapy service to patients in their own home in the Northamptonshire area.

The idea of Proactive Home Physio was developed from a desire to offer a slightly different approach to patients' experience of Physiotherapy. Often the need for such a service is quite reactive, possibly due to sustaining an injury or when recovering from an illness. I feel very strongly that leading an active lifestyle is key to maintaining good health and wellbeing. There is no better time to start becoming more active than today, regardless of age, current fitness level or disability.

I visit patients in their own homes, assess their individual needs and abilities, set rehabilitation goals, provide appropriate advice and treatment plans and regularly monitor progress towards the individuals rehabilitation goals.

I come to you - Proactive Home Physio is a home-based physiotherapy service in Northamptonshire so you can be treated in the comfort of your own home.

My services include:

  • A short initial telephone assessment
  • A detailed assessment to review your current physical activity levels, within your own home
  • A review of your own personal goals that you'd like to achieve from physiotherapy
  • Treatment of your conditions with targeted therapy
  • An individually tailored rehabilitation programme to help you work towards your goals

All of our treatment sessions are tailored around your specific personal goals, whether that is to be able to climb stairs safely, to be able to walk around the house without the constant fear of falling, or to be able to get out and about again with friends and family...the aim is to help you reach your goals! I will work with you on your strength, flexibility, balance and stamina, whilst helping you regain confidence so you may lead a more active, healthy day-to-day lifestyle.

How can I help you?

  • Have you lost your confidence and have a fear of falling?
  • Have you had a recent illness or diagnosis that has affected your physical abilities?
  • Have you noticed that simple everyday tasks are becoming more difficult?
  • Have you stopped venturing outdoors?
  • Have you noticed that hobbies that were once enjoyable are now becoming harder?
  • Would you like to become more active?
  • Do you care for someone whom you feel is becoming more dependent?
  • Are you unsure where to seek the advice that you need?
